It is important to consider pet safety when selecting the perfect pet sling carrier. An overlooked feature is the built-in safety hook. This hook is typically on a ribbon or band type material which extend 6 to 12 inches from the bottom of the inside of the sling. This hook can be clipped to the collar of a pet. This allows the pet to move around within the sling comfortably, but eliminates the possibility it gets too excited, jumps out, and runs away. It essentially acts as a mini leash. Another safety feature is a soft floor on the inside of the pet sling carrier. A soft floor will prevent pets from hurting their paws or getting their paws cinched or squished if the bottom of the carrier is adjusted or squeezed.
